    1. Why aren't we seeing any new coupons for those sweet $450 off or 35% off deals for dv6z's? how often do they offer them and do you usually have to order somewhere around $1100 to get the deal?

    2. Those of you who own a dv6z with 1080p matte screen how good is it? I know it's not an IPS screen but some people say it's better than an average TN and is it 6-bit or real 8bits per pixel color?

    3. Is it worth waiting for the Trinity models? I don't think they will have such sweet deals as the Llano models (if they offer another Llano coupon before hell freezes over).

They offer coupons based on whether they have enough inventory to support increased demand of lower prices, there hasn't been one on this particular model in some time. The price for the base model is already pretty low. You could use coupon NBDTSAVE50 to save $50 on any laptop that's $999, it's not huge but something at least. It expires May 19.

The matte screen on the dv6z is the same as that used on the dv6t, it's pretty nice but not amazing. Matte and HD+ is the way to go.

As with any new technology, discounts won't be offered for the first few months. If you want a deal, go with Llano.

idk about that but usually HP offers codes for even new stuff (33% off on the envy 3000s) idk about the ones with amd apus tho. I think its cause they already pretty cheap to begin with

Looking at old threads and how much people paid for their Sandy Bridge a year ago, current prices are down ~30% from what it was at the launch time. I don't see why HP would do different with Ivy Bridge.
The higher prices at beginning not only yields some hundreds of thousand net dollars but also helps reducing the buyers remorse when the new model comes out.
Many people would return the 21 days old laptop for a better one at the same price, but not that many people would be willing to shed another 300-400 dollars to get the newer version

Thery're not pretty cheap at all. I configured an i5 and an A8-3550MX with the same features and they're almost the same price.

Thing is they've been giving the Intel ones $450 off or 33%-35% coupons for a couple of months but nothing for the AMDs. Maybe they did give coupons when they intriduced the AMDs before (wasn't looking for a laptop then) but nothing compared to the Intel ones.
