I have a HP dv7 4065dx with an Atheros wifi card. It has always had connection problems compared to other laptops in the house (Dell, lenovo), like losing connection when someone walks between it and the router, or more than 20 ft from the router. Long story short, the HDD failed so I am finally addressing this issue too.

    1. Would getting a different wifi card possibly address the poor connection issue?

    2. If so which one? The HP manual says these are the HP manufactured choices (non-Atheros):

    Broadcom 4322 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module (582564-001)
    Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and 2070 Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Combo
    adapter (BT3.0+HS ready) (600370-001)
    Broadcom BCM94313 802.11b/g/n WLAN module (593836-001)
    Realink RT3090BC4 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Combo (602992-001)

I am a bit unfamiliar with some of the jargon about these cards.

    3. What is 1x1 or 2x2?
    4. Can I get one with bluetooth (which was not origially availble on this model) without any other antennas (has 2 antenna connection that I can see).
    5. Can other brand mini PCIe wifi cards be used, and if so are there any suggestions

Thanks for the time and help!!
