    Hey all,

This forum was really helpful in making my laptop purchasing decision, and I greatly appreciate it.

Now that I have my bright shiny (though refurb) dv7, I am looking at warranties. I had planned to go with a Square Trade warranty, but read the terms wrong. It seems the most coverage I can get for my refurb is 2 yrs for $149. I can actually get the same amount of coverage from HP (+tech support) for their pick-up service for less money.

There is another third-party service, ElectronicWarranty.com, that will give me 3 yrs of pick-up service for $99 (or 3 yrs + ADH for $180). HP's best offer for me with ADH is $165 (both of these ADH plans are stretching my desired budget levels).

    My questions are:

--Is 2 years of protection enough?

--Do I really need ADH (my computer is a desktop replacement that will only seldom leave the house, and I've never before spilled anything on a laptop, as I'm pretty careful in general--but...accidents will happen)?

--Is it better to go with HP since it's not much more and includes tech support and intimate product knowledge?

--Does anyone have personal experience with Square Trade, ElectronicWarranty or any other 3rd-party warrantor?

    Thanks!
