I am looking for reviews but cannot find too many from this site.

    Anyone own this?

Pretty much I am not looking for a gaming laptop but mostly a good laptop to watch movies online, install photo softwares and also a store lot of photos , music.

Is this more then enough for me ?

I am hearing that centrinos are budget processors. Is this true?

A friend of mine told me to look out for these

Intel 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo (Pxxxx not a Txxx cpu)
    3GB Ram at least
GeForce 9600 GT 265MB or higher
    a 7200 rpm hard drive.

    Should I got for it?

I've got the DV7-1285DX, with the Intel C2D [email protected], 6GB RAM (2GB in one slot, 4GB in the other), 9600M GT, with 512MB onboard video RAM, a 500GB, 5,400rpm hard drive, and a 1440x900 glossy screen (the screen resolution is the only downer for me).

The centrino processors aren't "budget" in the sense of being low-performance CPUs; however, they're neither quadcores nor the new Nehalem/i7 CPUs, so they won't be king of the hill either.

I use mine mainly for surfing (NBR, of course :D), editing images from my DSLR, and a bit of light gaming, and it's been a pleasure to work with to date. If you aren't a hard-core gamer (and aren't looking to become one), then I would definitely say that you won't go wrong with this machine.
