    dv7-3080ef w/4Go de RAM but only 2Go recognized

    hello,
    I checked in the BIOS: only 2Go recognized
    The bios is the latest (Insyde bios F.04) but it seems modded by HP... so there isn't memort remap option or smthg like that... very few options!

    CPUZ gives me that:

    I reflashed the bios (with the same version) and now, the bios recognizes 4096Mo RAM!
    yeah...

    but windows only recognizes 2Go

    Ok, CPU-Z is telling you that you do have 4GB of RAM. As for Windows, are you using 32-bit or 64-bit??

    Ok, if Windows isn't recognizing all of your RAM, then your RAM might be damaged or Faulty. You will need to get a replacement module.

    I see slot #1 have 2GB and slot#2 have 2GB
    total 4GB

    yes or no ?

    and I put my nose inside the beast: 2 2Gb modules!


    I inverted modules
    I boot
    bios sees 4Gb again
    windows seeesGb (1,99 usable)

    I reboot

    all the same
    2Gb recognized by bios and windows ...
