If this is the one with the Quad processor, yes I bought it. Loved it, awesome computer. However I returned because I wanted the DV8t. It's performance will blow you away. The screen IMHO was great. Others seem to be bashing the viewing angles, I didn't see any problem. The sound is totally amazing. Very loud and clear, no distortion at high volumes. The 8 cell battery is actually really good for a desktop replacement. The finish which is the HP Imprint Design uses the espresso black which dresses the notebook up.

Some known issues with the best buy model.

You probably will need to update the Nvidia driver located in the dv6/dv7t quad drivers thread.

I noticed that if you power on the notebook with the battery then plug into the ac you have to manually adjust the brightness.

Won't YET work with iTunes/iPod/iPhone/iTouch. I have no idea.

But yeah its an amazing computer for a awesome price @ $1299 at BB.

If its cheaper on HP then go for it plus you'll be able to use the logic buy coupon which I believe is currently $20 off but hey its $20!

One advantage is with BB you can test drive it first and get it that day no waiting :D I prefer the Espresso Black over the white. Actually I prefer the fluid design over anything HP has ever done but the HDX's are long gone now ):

Best of Luck on your purchase, Keep us Informed :)

A huge benefit of HP.com vs. BB (and most other retailers) is their return policy! BB charges a 15% Restocking Fee for laptop returns, which is a hefty $150 or so on a $1000 machine. HP.com doesn't charge any restocking fees even on custom ordered (configured) models. HP will even send you a pre-paid FedEx box to ship it back to them if you decide to return!

Even though I'm not a fan of HP products anymore, their return policy and procedures are among the most customer-friendly I've ever experienced! :D

Yeah go with HP Direct I forgot about the restocking fee. Very poor Customer Service on BB's behalf.

If you are a costco member you may want to try their HP Customized purchase area under laptops at costco.com

Recently we purchased a dv7t there and it was the same prices as that at HP plus you get a 2 year warranty and a 90 return.

The downside is you are limited on a couple of things (no white only expresso black) and you cannot use any hp coupons.

^ you customize them at costco and HP ships them to you. esentially, costco is the middleman providing small incentives for you to order through them.
