For this customer's laptop, their BIOS does not contain an option to enable/disable the Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology S.M.A.R.T. system. We have run diagnostics on this customer's harddrive, both the built in as well as our own diagnostics software, and the harddrive passed with flying colors. Is there a way to disable this annoying error message, which I believe to be a false positive? I have Googled extensively, at least one hour of labor, with no luck in resolving this issue.

    Thank you kindly.
