    Hi all,

My current HP Envy 17 3d laptop is being replaced to a new HP DV7-7008tx due to constant overheating and other issues. I just wanted to know if I pull out the SSD from my HP Envy 17 3d laptop (I purchased this myself and inserted into the HP Envy) and insert it into the new dv7, will I have to go reformat and reinstall the whole operating system or will it work right off the bat as if the SSD was installed in the DV7 all along?

If I do have to reinstall the whole operating system and everything, how is the best way to go about this? Should I first burn copies of the HP Recovery off my existing SSD in my hp envy and when I swap the SSD into the new DV7, I just reinstall off that?

I hope you all understand what I am talking about and I hope some people can help and advise me on what to do.

    Thanks all

Create the recovery discs for your DV7 from the original HDD before swapping it with your SSD. If it does not boot you will have to reinstall with the DV7 recovery discs.
