    dv7...who would be interested in a new bios?

    So the white list of cards the DV7 will allow in the mini PCI-e slots pisses me off (in a MASSIVE way)

    If we could find a way around or just get a new bios would any of you fellow owners be interested? Possibly make a way to use a SSD drive as a boot device on these laptops.

    There's a thread about BIOS patching to work around this somewhere in this forum. I'll let you hunt it down. I don't think anyone's tried to patch the dv7 yet.

    Standard SATA SSDs shouldn't be a problem.

    The problem is the new dv models are using an Insyde BIOS that has yet to be documented or modified really. :(

    So I have found out thus far :( sucks. I will continue looking for a Bios company that wants to take on the challenge.
