Just wondering if anyone else has a dv7qe touchpad that has some rough spots on it. Mine has about 4 spots that feel like really tiny bumps on the surface. They're very tiny, but one in particular makes it feel like I've been dragging a finger across the tip of a needle after I've used the touchpad for a while.

Thought about calling HP about it, but the maintenance manual seems to indicate that the touchpad is part of the top cover of the computer and I don't imagine they'd want to send just that part for a self-repair and I'd hate to have to send the computer back after waiting so long to get it.

I'd love to hear some ideas if anyone has them.

I did find the top cover including a touchpad on HP's part site for about $50 and thought about just ordering it and doing it myself, but I'm hoping to find out if this is a widespread thing or not and if I'd end up likely getting a replacement with the same issue.

    Thanks!

mine is smooth. Well not smooth as ice as it does have a slight texture..but its 100% consistent across the entire pad.
