Hi. My HP Pavilion Dv7t Quad frequently, like about once a week for months now, is freezing up, going to a black screen for 5-15 seconds, then coming back to a "display driver crash" error message, or, about every 16th time, going into a BSOD with a "display driver crash" error message. Right before this happens, it feels like it's running really hot and the fan is going at top speed.
This seems to mostly happen when I'm running a game or video or both (using a high level of computer resources), but sometimes even when I'm just reading a webpage, with not a lot going on on the computer (low use of resources).
Should I re-install the display driver, or is something else the issue? Could this be a video card issue? My graphics card is AMD Radeon 7690M XT, driver 8.882.2.3000. In Device Manager under Monitor, it just lists Generic PnP Monitor, microsoft driver 6.1.7600.16385 from June 2006, could that be a problem?
