    dv7t question (brightness icon)

    I just received my dv7t i7 with the 6770 Graphics card

    and everytime at least so far (it seems) that i switch to a different program/window, and start typing the little brightness overlay icon (what you would see if you adjust it with the 'F' keys) appears and then goes away...

    Is this a known "issue" or is this something related to the switchable graphics, or some other video/graphics setting I need to adjust?

    Updated info:
    Laptop is plugged in, and I am currently working when it happens. There is no "interrupting" of sleep mode or any of that. I'm right in the middle of something when this occurs.

    when my laptop goes into dim mode and i shake the mouse to make it bright again the little brightness icon pops up. it doesnt bother me but it does show up everytime i shake the mouse and wake it from the dimmer stage

    geez take it easy man, he was just trying to help and you blow up on him....

    i haven't noticed the brigthness icon issue that you are seeing. probably a software issue. did you do the minimal system restore on your laptop?

    could it be a problem with a hotkey accidentally being associated with one of your regular keys? It's not normal for the brightness icon to pop up automatically or see a change in brightness, unless you are disconnecting the battery.
