I run a program that I leave running overnight and rarely turn it off. I am finding that the laptop screne is showing a burnt in image o fsome of the program outlines and print that stays stationary. This does not happen on any of the other monitors that I use on the system, just the notebook screen. Any way to get rid of this? Other than turning the notebook off. I do seem to get some correcting of teh burn in image if I rearange the windows that imprent the screen periodically. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if it's truly burnt in, it's possible you're stuck... however, you could try this youtube video on fullscreen Pixel Unsticker - YouTube

To prevent permanent image burn-in, allow the screen to shut off while you're not actively using it, or use a screen saver... simple enough

why not just change the advanced power settings to turn off the screen after like 30 mins of inactivity. You can still tell it to never turn off

does your screen have cfl backlight, or led backlight?

i've had burn in with cfl lcd's, but so far, not led ones. Dunno if there's any correlation.

the burnt cfl one felt hot where the burn was

I upgraded the display to the full HD one when I got it and I think it has LED backlight.
