Well... as the title suggests, I am planning on putting another HDD into my dv8 with two hard drive bays. I am currently using one of the bays for a 320GB 7200prm drive. I'm probably gonna put another 320GB 7200rpm or 500GB 5400rpm HDD in. However, I am not sure where to purchase a hard drive caddy from. There is one from NewmodeUS for around $40 + $5 shipping and there is a one that is a genuine HP part from the HP parts and store that costs around $50 + $10 shipping. Where do you guys think I should buy it from?
The link for the Newmodes one is http://newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=256&zenid=5754ddc01b55ca8c521296b4225ceffd
The one from the HP parts and store is http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/Default.aspx?mscssid=F9D33A55AC614518A49F1BBE8882D28F and type in the part number 483862-001

I'm going to be interested in this once you do it as well. While the price on teh newmodeus website is good, not sure if it's wroth the savings over going with the genuine part.

go with newmode.us - tons of people with HPs (incl myself) have bought from them. price is cheaper than hp, quality is just as good. i've had mine in my dv7t now for over a year. shipping is really quick too.
the caddy is just a piece of metal that holds the drive in. quality concerns on a part like this are overkill - it's literally like worrying about the quality of a screw on a laptop.
the caddy has holes in it too to allow for cooling. dig through the dv7t and dv8 threads - tons of people have bought from them w/ not a single bad result/comment.
