HP has set end-of-life for dv8t at April 2014, so that we cannot get any more extended warranties when ours expire in Sep 2013.

I would like to know of any good (excellent would be better) hardware repair companies for the dv8t, with or without their own warranties.

    Thanks.

What exactly is the nature of the problem for you HP DV8t unit? Do you have the recovery cd/dvd already if not that might be something you want to invest in getting just in case. Otherwise you can always get a new HDD and replace the old HDD and upgrade the RAM to improve the usage lifespan. But until you laptop goes completely dead I say it is still worth keeping it running but if the cost is productive cost prohibited then it would be time to replace but I have old Dell 1525 and DV4-1225dx still running and working. So a old laptop can still work but you have to maintain and keep it it dust out and maintenance the laptop til it no longer wants to work. I still have my desktop from 2009 a custom build and Dell 1525 that sill work and run.
