    dv8000 Dark corners on screen

    I just got my dv8000 today and I noticed that both lower corners of my LCD are a little dark. It is only about the size of a mouse pointer. Does anyone else have these dark spots on their dv8000?

    Is it the dv8000t or the dv8000z ?

    Its the dv8000t.

    I also noticed that the hard drive cover does not sit flush with the bottom of the notebook. I took it off to see why it was not sitting flush and it is hitting the top of the hard drive. It is like the hard drive is too thick for the slot. I only have one 7200 rpm 100 gig drive in my dv8000t and the other side of the drive cover (the sided that does not have a drive) fits more flush.

    We have many HP notebooks in the company but from a bussiness line nx8xxx and nc8xxx some of them do have dark corners like yours. Unfortunately it's a minor issue not qualifying to replace the notebook - thats what I heard from our bussiness hp support guy. I guess that most of the people in the company didn't notice it as well.

    You might try to discuss it with the customer support if it really bothers you. Good luck

    Call them up and return it. You have 21 days. You better do it now before the time is up. Order another one and get the Ultra BrightView. No dark corners on my screen.
