    dv8000 wont post - power LED blinks

    friend has an issue with his HP dv8000 laptop.. he said he went to turn it on one morning and all it does is the power LED blinks.. i did the norm.. removed battery.. memory.. etc.. checked the keyboard to make sure the ribbon was seated.. checked the HDD.. etc.. even removed the CMOS battery and let it sit and then tried it.. nothing.. just blinking LED.. anyone come across this? of course his warrantee is out.. just makes no sense.. one day it works.. next day blinking power LED.. any ideas let me know..
