Does anyone have any battery life measurements on the dv8000t or even the dv8000z? None of the reviews posted seem to mention this.

    Thanks

It is a 17" notebook so I wouldn't expect great battery life. The screen is the biggest juice sucker on a laptop.

Maufacturers are usually overly optimistic when calculating battery life. Usually the screen is dimmed to the lowest with WiFi off. The way everyone uses their notebook right?

dv8000t: I'm getting almost 3 hours with lite usage such as word processing, e-mail and web browsing. Wifi on, blue tooth off. I had a dv8000z that I returned. While I owned it, I was getting 1.5 hrs battery life for same type of usage as above. Turned out to be a bad battery. HP replaced it and my battery time increased to abut 2:45. I'm quite happy with the battery life of the dv8000t; z model was a little less.

    dv8000t: 2.0 Ghz, 1GB RAM, 80G 5400 HD; Go7400, 17" Ultra Brightview
