Hello everyone,
I recently got my dv8000t....as a replacement for my zd7000 from HP, which failed me miserably for about two years, every four months or so. Alternation was like this: motherboard+HDD, motherboard, HDD, then motherboard again. Well, nice upgrade i can say, and the ultra brightview is hot stuff!
Anyway, I was writing here to ask how is clean install done here. I want to replace everything with a normal windows XP pro. I read a lot on this forum that there are all these limitations/problems that SATA hard drives give you. I read that if you disable SATA support you will be able to install, but once you enable them, windows wont load. Also, i read that there are some issues with sound card installation, is that true?
In other words, I want to ask you how to do it, that is have windows installed cleanly, with SATA support, and no other problems! Tell me if anyone has done it and whether there are things I should know or be prepared for. Thank you very much.

I posted a thread just before you on this. I did the same thing and had no problems, just popped in my Windows cd, hit esc to boot from the cd and went from there. I went to the HP site and got all the downloads first. Just didn't find one for the card reader.
