I want to get a new laptop but can’t decide on which one to buy. First it’s going to be a gaming laptop and I know the E1705 can provide all that, but it’s just the **** price that bothers me.

First, both laptops are great. My ideal specs I want in a laptop are:
Intel Duo processor T2500 (2.0 GHz)
1 gig of ram (667 mhz)
    100 gig HD 7200 RPM
    8 x dvd burner
    7900 graphics card
    9-Cell Lithium Ion Battery

Both laptops has its advantages and disadvantages
    • For example, I believe the E1705 has a better 17in screen with truelife compared to the HP WXGA+ Ultra BrightView Widescreen. Also, dell has a high resolution.
    • The E1705 also has (I believe) 2 more usb on the latop making it a total of 6? Compared to the 4 on the dv8000t. And i need extra ports for my joystick, trackir, mouse...etc.
    • The E1705 also has the option of faster ram (667mhz) and a better graphics card (7900) and longer battery life. (9-cell)
    • However, one thing that I am fond of the dv8000t is that it has a keypad, which is smart, the E1705 has the extra space but doesn’t use it. Also, it is a LOT cheaper than dell.

If you order from dell without any coupons, it would be like $2500, and with coupon it would be around $1800. I littery have to wait months (like i been waiting) for an opportunity to come up in dell where the prices are low enough in my paren't eyes. They want it somewhere between $1700 which is crazy considering they want the 100 gig 7200rpm HD. The HP is around $1600 without any coupons (despite the fact the specs are slightly lower). But that still brings in the question why dell’s initial price is so high? If it was slightly cheaper than I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. Or if the HP come out with a better graphics card I’ll buy that instead. So does anyone know if the dv8000t will have the 7900 graphics card soon?
