I want to buy the dv8000t with TV Tuner and remote control.
Is really good this TV Tuner? Is inside the notebook or like a little box for plug in in usb port??

Anyone have this feature in the notebook??
    Thanks a lot

It goes in the Express Card slot on the right side. It sticks out about an inch. It also comes with a USB dongle for the Media Center remote. The USB dongle also comes with yet another small cable that will go on to your satellite or cable box and allow Media Center to change the channels and basically control the box.

The image quality of the tuner is good. It would be a lot better if MCE didn't constantly "temporarily record" everything, but it's good. It's expensive, but good. It will ONLY work with Media Center though. So don't expect it to work with Dscaler or anything like that.

If we order with out MCE and TV Tuner for now. And want to buy WinTV or USB Tuner later? is it works? winTV is good as quality? winTV does it need MCE? Is it cheeper?

    Any idea? Please.

Whatever you buy later will work just fine :) The only real difference is that you don't get the "slick" MCE interface and you possibly lose the ability to control any satellite or cable boxes with the computer. Which really isn't a big deal. It's more of a "wow I can do that" thing. If you want to record something, simply set the satellite or cable box to the channel and press record in the TV Tuner software.

That's the TV Tuner, right? Thats the one I have for my dv5030us. There is a breakout box that it comes with, but it is for the remote control and the infrared wire that can be used to control a satellite or cable box. You don't have to use that box for anything if you don't want to though. The TV Tuner itself goes in the Express Card slot and sticks out only about an inch.

If I dont have a cablebox (im in a dorm room we run cable directly off the coax into the tv) it has a port for that right? In the pic on the website I dont see a coax port.

Yup you can! It comes with a little cable that has two different ends. One end connects to the coaxial cable, the other end goes into the TV Tuner. That's how the S-Video/RCA cable works too. One end is the adapter that plugs into the card, the other end breaks out into the 4 different cables.
