    Hello all,

I will be ordering my dv8000t soon, maybe in a couple of days. But before placing my order, i would like to hear from you guys.. what are your thouhgts on this machine. Is it nice, any problems?

I will be carrying it to school daily, i know you guys think i am insane.... but as a designer i need the extra space for working. I used to carry around a 15.4" with a notebook cooler, i think that carrying around the 17" with jsut the charger wont be too bad? For you owners how is the weight? Is it pretty heavy/bulky?

    GeForce Go7600 256mb
    t2400 1.83ghz Core Duo
    100gb 7200rpm
SuperMulti 8x DVD... what is lightscribe? and is it worth it?
    Bluetooth + wireless
    Windows xp media center
wsxga+ bright view widescreen... is the wxga+ ultrabright better?
    Tv tuner + remote

    thanks.

If you are carrying this daily, I would recommend against a 17" notebook. It does not bother some people, but they are in the small minority in my opinion. You certainly can get a WSXGA+ screen on a 15.4" notebook so you will be seeing the same thing.

I used to carry a 15.4" with a notebook cooler. Now i can carry the 17" without a cooler. I sit around doing renderings for about 5+ hours daily. I am very interested in the big 17" screen.. less stressful on the eyes, and also alot mroe space while working with photoshop/ illustrator, or any other rendering program.

Before working on the 15.4" i would run out of space, I use Alias studiotools... A rendering program that has a buncha tools and splits the screen into 4's... so a bigger screen is a must.

In my opinion and for me the Ultrabright view was the superior choice. The screen is evenly lit and beautifully vibrant. Much better looking than a standard one lamp LCD.....That said you seem to require as much screen real estate as possible (something I didnt care as much about) and for your purposes it sounds like the bigger WSXGA+ would be better. If your not sure go to a local best buy and check out a dv8000 on display so you can see for yourself if WXGA+ is enough for you. They are usually the WXGA+ non-ultrabrightview screens in the stores
