i have the dv8000z, i got it w/ one hd, now i want to add another. getting a compatible drive doesn't seem to be an ish, there are plenty available on ebay or elsewhere, but the problem is, NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A MOUNTING FOR IT!!!!! OH NOES!! i can't seem to find anyone on the whole intarnet selling the bracket/caddy/tray/mounting kit for the hard drive bay of a dv8000z. actually, i did find ONE store that had it, but they wanted 50 bucks for i!!! that's more expensive than the whole drive!!

no one knows where i can get one, eh.
i am not surprised, parts for these are so bloody hard to find. o well -
Well if you do not use that bracket, the HDD will only be sitting on the connector pins. That is bad, and will cause damage over time and possibly render the HDD and that motherboard slot useless.

There is a reason for the bracket people...
Motherboard isn't cheap btw...

I know it is a different model, but it might give you some additional info about why that bracket is important and where you might find one.

I know nothing about the company, but this site lists a bracket for the 8000:
