Hi, this is my first post here and wanted to get someones opinion on this laptop. I see it for sale at CompUsa for 799. Is HP a good vendor? Are there any known issues with this laptop? Also is the protection plan (199.00) from CompUsa recommended? I have never owned a laptop before so I am at the mercy of this forum!!

p.s. The laptop is more than adequate for my needs. So if someone could refer another vendor with these specs, I would appreciate it.

The keyboards can be a bit finicky, hopefully they've fixed that by now. So long as you get one with a good keyboard that's a great price. I'd skip the CompUSA protection plan. It's being replaced by the dv9000z series but those are a lot more expensive.
