I just purchased a hp dv8327ca. However, i am not sure i received the right laptop. The screen is etched dv8000 which I assume is a standard screen for the 8000 line. However, under the laptop where the model number is located, it also says dv8000. I am not familiar with hp products, but I would have assumed that the model number would have been written as the dv8327. Does anyone know if this is the way HP does things. It appears that all the specs in the computer are right, but the fact that the model is written as the dv8000 concerns me.

No...the dv8327ca is just a specific preconfigured model of the dv8000 series. They don't brand it with different labels AFAIK. As long as the specs are the same you're fine.

THanks, that definitely eases the mind. How did you get your computer to display the specs like that?

Took a pic of my computer w/ digital camera, made the final picture with Paint (sad I know), and upload it in the Edit Signature page.
