This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     I recently purchased an HP dv8408us laptop (has GeForce Go 7600 w/256MB RAM). Running 3dMark01 SE on the initial system, I got 17,900. However, after reformatting and installing plain ol' Windows MCE 2005 sans bloatware, my score is considerably lower (between 14,500 and 15,500). I have all drivers reinstalled, system is optimized, and have tried different video drivers. Any idea as to why I'm getting worse scores now, on a bloatware-free PC, than before?
