about to purchase dv9000--- should i purchase from costco.com, hp.com or others? I need CTO because I want Vista Business and a few other adds.

Is there still a $200 coupon.. or any coupon? are there any discounts or coupons in the horizon?

This exact topic has been addressed several times in this forum. Try a search for "dv9000 costco". Sorry, I'm too lazy to post links.

$200 discount from HP is no longer valid.

    1) You should check both HP and CostCo to compare prices of your specific configuration.
    2) Use HP's APP program.
    3) If you're not a member of CostCo, you need to pay an extra $50 for membership, if you don't they will charge you a non-member fee that is more than $50.

I think you will find that CostCo is about $90 more expensive than HP, but keep in mind CostCo has a 90-day return policy, extends HP's warranty to 2 years, and physical stores throughout the US - you can return/exchange by going to a CostCo store within the 90-day limit. HP's return policy is significantly worse and you will have to use some mail service (too lazy to check the specifics, you should definitely review both company's return policies and compare).

My opinion is that CostCo is worth the extra money. However, everyone should look into both companies and form their own conclusion.

I did a configuration at the HP website for a DV9000z for $1,478.99 and the same configuration at Costco was $1,505,99 and free shipping with either choice. These prices are before tax.

So Costco is about $30 more but you will get the 90-Day return policy and the extended warranty. If you are already a Costco member then at least you don't have to spent the additional $50 for the Membership fee.

Personally I would go with Costco since the 90-Day hassle free return.

Another good point, if you're already a CostCo member, the choice should be unanimously in favor of CostCo.
