I'm having a pretty annoying problem with my new laptop's keyboard.

Each time I go to press the 'p' key, the cursor that tells you where the next letter will go, it goes behind the letter 'p'

So if I was typing the word 'practice' without pressing backspace to correct it, it would look like 'racticep'

I talked to HP about this, and they basically told me to format my computer. I'm looking for something a little bit less drastic, any ideas?

sounds like either your drivers are messed, you can try this:

    go to RUN and enter

    SFC /SCANNOW

you will need your xp/vista CD/DVD for this as it takes the corrupt drivers from it.

If not you may just have to reformat it's certainly a strange problem.

    thanks for your reply!

    Here's a little more information,

when I went into Word, I disabled the Left Arrow key, and the problem with the 'p' key went away while in Word. I was looking for key remappers, and I a lot of the ones I found did not work. One did, but it cost money, any suggestions?
