    DV9000 issue

    I pretty much cant close my laptop now. the left hand side hinge is being difficult
    I try and move screen and the screen on that side pops open at the side and the hinge doesnt move
    any ideas how to fix this ?

    i've had the same problem for a while now. the plastic cracked on mine. it's by the kensington lock area right?

    There is no way to fix it. just keep it open

    There is only one thing you may be able to do....and that is take or send the unit to an authorized HP repair facility. On a laptop there are simply some parts(most actually) that are not user serviceable, especially isf the user is not a trained technician.

    I am bumping this old thread because i too have this problem with my laptop and its on its way back to HP.
    I have a HP Pavillion dv9035nr.

    there is a website i found that is keeping track of this stuff
    Apparently it is a design flaw, the screen tends to do this on teh left hand side due to the excessive heat from the motherboard (cpu and graphics are both in that corner, appartenly )
