I haven't found an answer in searching, so sorry if a repost...

I have the dv9000t and winXP but did not buy late enough to be eligible for the free windows vista upgrade from HP. I have obtained a legit copy of windows vista enterprise edition from my university, though, and want to install it.

Simple question, then: can I use the windows vista enterprise edition installation DVD with the "HP Upgrade Utility" program? The HP site http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...=en&product=3224058&lang=en&docname=c00678123 says I can use the upgrade utility, but indicates that it goes along with the vista upgrade DVD that would have come from HP with the coupon, so I wanted to make sure that my enterprise edition installation DVD would work before I run the upgrade utility.

Also, it appears that the "HP Upgrade Utility" allows for a clean vista install with formatting of the drive, right? At least I believe that when I run the vista enterprise installation dvd that I will be able to do this, regardless of the hp upgrade utility input.

I guess the other option would be to install and download drivers myself, but the HP update utility looks to be a bit more streamlined. Thanks!

That is exactly what the program is designed for. It will work fine with a clean install of Vista Enterprise. I am using it with a retail Ultimate install on the same notebook.
