Hey guys im just wondering what the difference in performance is between the intel and the amd models. I know there is a price difference between the two but whats so good about the core 2 duo? the amd processors are dual core as well.......

there are plenty of topics out there comparing them but basically its significantly faster in CPU intensive programs, based on newer architecture and consumes less power, saving battery life. it's just better all-round even in games where amd used to take the crown, they dont anymore.

Better battery life on the t, less so if you add a dedicated GPU. Intel's huge L2 caches make their CPUs look really good on benchmark tests, real-world you may not notice. If you're going with a shared-memory GPU the NVIDIA Go 6150 GPU the HP AMD notebooks use is far superior to Intel's GMA950 (not sure about the new Intel GPU) at the expense of higher power consumption. I prefer to buy z and skip the Intel marketing tax.
