I saw it today, too. I'll be getting dv9000 with core 2 duo from costco within a couple of weeks.

    Howdy...

I was all set to order the dv9000t on Friday. Priced out a system for $2300 with basically every option. There was a $50 rebate offered.

I ended up not buying it on Friday, however, but today I logged on and the EXACT SAME SYSTEM was $2150 and change. Lots of the previous upgrades were now 'included' and there was a $150 rebate included...

I was JUST ABOUT to hit the 'buy' button, when I decided to pop by Costco.com, as they have a 6 month return policy that's great for notebooks noone has ever seen before. Priced out the exact same system, and it came to $1965!

I bought it. Only downside was the Tax that they added (about $150) which brought the price back to nearly the same as the HP. I'm not sure if HP charges tax (I'm in AZ), but Costco's no-questions return policy is worth the extra bucks, and I am still better off!

Anyhoo, the moral of the story is to check ofter for discounts, and check costco.com too before you buy... Ship date was the same (Sep 28).

    Best,

    Benjamin

HP does indeed charge taxes to Arizona.

And as for the ship date, it'd be the same, since when you order from Costco, they place the order with HP.

    Glad you got some discounts.

Now, if I just had the money to get one...

    ;)

Cool! Thanks for the update! I just called up HP, and got a $137 refund! (Actually, I'm on hold whil customer service gets her supervisor, as the first tier is only authorized $100 max credit.)

As a plus, customer service is outstanding! I am really impressed with them.

I am going to start a new thread with my experience with Vista RC1 on this baby... (it looks good, so far...)

Again, thanks for the heads up!
