I recently got a new motherboard the same board from the dv9000z but I can't seem to find a heatsink for the nvidia geforce 7600go. I've tried to buy one that supposedly fits but I think it's for the intel dv9000t version. Has anyone else had trouble finding one fitting the AMD motherboard?

yea it is listed under there but that only shows the cpu fan/heatink assembly and not the gpu heatsink.

how hard is it to replace that stuff... the fan is going out on my dv9207 and the part is $80 or over $150 if i send it it. thinking i might just get a new laptop and be done with it.

Maybe you should contact HP and inquire about the part; I'm thinking
part # 438606-001 Fansink assembly for use only with computer models using
    AMD processors
is also the heatsink/fan combo for the GPU.

Here's a link to the DV9000 maintenance/service manual; it details how to replace/repair laptop components:

the only problem with that is there is no part number for that second heatsink for the gpu. when i talked to hp's part store they told me 438606-001 was just a heatsink/fan for the cpu and not my video. SO FRUSTRATING.
