Hello and thanks for letting me vent. I know this is my first post so I will try not to upset anyone. I'm already upset enough for everyone. First, I should have researched this model before I purchased it but we all have 20/20 hindsight. That being said, now the situation I have. I purchase this unit back in October of last year. I used the online tech chat when it started overheating in February. Well while I was following the tech's instructions, the unit turned into a paper weight. Totally dead. Off to the repair center. They had to replace the mainboard. I had the unit back for about 3 weeks when the screen started to go checkerboard. This happened anytime. At post or in the middle of typing an email. Didn't matter what I was doing of weather the unit had been on for a while or if it was cold. Back to the repair center. This was March 20th when they received it. The return date was to be March 28. Well now it is April 6th and all I can get on the phone is someone that doesn't speak English. At least not the English I was taught in school and I still don't have the unit back. I'm not able to get any answers that I can understand from anyone via the phone. I am a patient man but this is pushing the limit for me. I don't know where to turn at this point. Any ideas? Thanks
Jim

Sorry to hear about your problem, Jim.
I recommend calling them over and over until you can get a "favorable" response or someone that speaks English(ask to speak to their managers who hopefully might have a better understanding of the English language. -
Well here is a follow up...
I have called HP everyday since I posted this and I still have not received my laptop. I keep getting the same answer from them every time. "You will have it in 1 or 2 business days. I'm really tired of the same BS answer. BTW I'm still not speaking to anyone that speaks English very well. I'm at my wits end here now. Where else can I turn for help? I just want this thing back.

Well today is the 17th and the laptop has finally been returned. I still don't know if it works because they sent it back with a dead battery and without my AC adapter...
Is this normal for HP? In the 7 months I have owned this thing, it has been returned twice for repair for a total of 6 weeks. Both times it was a mainboard failure. I'm ready to sell this thing but I don't want anyone else to get screwed...

Ok. Now I am really angry. They did not fix the problem. After 3 days of use, the screen started to go checkerboard once in a while. It would go away if you pressed the front right corner of the laptop. It kept happening more frequently and now it will not boot at all. This is the very same it did before. To top it off, they sent it back without the ac adapter and power cord and they replaced my own brand new 100gig Seagate hard drive with a beatup and DEAD Toshiba 80 gig drive. I purchased this second Seagate drive for more storage. How can I get HP to take this pos back and refund my money? I just want nightmare to end and get away from this unit but I don't want to take a $950.00 hit. Does anyone here know who I can contact about this? In my entire life I have never had this bad of customer service with anything I have ever owned...
Help please
Jim
