When I put an SD card into the reader, absolutely nothing happens. It is not recognized and it is not in Win Explorer drive list. Can somebody tell me where to start troubleshooting this problem? I don't have any other format mem cards to test in this 5 in 1 reader. I did test 3 different SD cards, all of which are known good, nothing.

OK, I left the SD card in the slot and rebooted the computer. It was then recognized. Then I clicked on the icon to Stop and Safely Remove the card. I removed the card, then I reinserted it. It was again NOT recognized. I can't believe I should have to boot the machine with the card in it for it to be used. I must be missing something.

    Thanks,
    Linda

    Reinstall the driver?

Maybe a program (such as your power manager) if keeping it off to save energy. See if that's the case.

Yeah try those two and maybe upgrading the driver if there is one. Otherwise there could be an actual problem with the card reader. Try another type of card other than SD. If it works normally then its the driver.
