My buddy just updated his dv9208nr with the latest F.3A BIOS version, as it was posted as newer then the F.38, upgrading from his current F.27. The BIOS update went fine but when it was finished it just keep rebooting after sitting at the BIOS screen for 10-15 seconds.
I am lost at what to do to help him out. It doesn't seem dead as it boots up, keyboard lights, HP logo on the screen, but it just keeps restarting.
Was there something wrong that HP has 2 different BIOS F.38 and F.3A? Should have we used F.38 instead F.3A? HP lists no difference, so I am not sure if we are at fault.

Hmm... just to be thorough, see if the machine will boot from a bootable CD, maybe MemTest86+. If that works, your Windows installation might have been damaged somehow. Awfully big coincidence, but possible.
If that doesn't work... the BIOS flash failed and HP will have to straighten things out. -
HP just told me that had this issue before with this laptop and BIOS and said just to send it in. My buddy isn't to happy but I don't have the tools to pull his ROM chip and flash it again. I pulled the the memory out and tested both modules in my laptop and they both ran into no issues under MemTest86.
Thanks for the quick response!
