A friend of mine has a dv9320us that he asked me to take a look at. he had tried to reinitialize his computer with the Vista disc, but he messed it up, didn't have drivers, etc. Long story short, I ordered the HP resource CD (I don't understand why in the h**l they don't give you one with your computer) and reformatted his computer. The wireless card still didn't work (that's why he tried to reformat in the first place). He has an nVidia (yeah, nVidia) network card, and even a factory image of his computer didn't allow it to work. So I tried replacing the wireless card. Nothing. I tried replacing the wireless switch. Nothing. The light on the wireless switch is orange, which I think means off. But whatever I do it won't turn blue. The ethernet port works fine. Any suggestions? If it's not software, not the card itself, and not the switch, I have no idea what the problem is.

Seeing as youve tried everything, it must be the system board thats the problem then.

Check if your model is on this page. That is the recall for the affected pavilions, dead wireless is part of the symptoms

That's what I think. Just making sure there's nothing else I can do short of replacing the system board. His computer was 2 weeks out of warranty when it quit working. I love my Dell 1520. No problems whatsoever.
