Just came back from a family wedding. The groom gave me a copy of a slide show presentation that was shown at the reception. He offered to make duplicates. I would like to make a copy using my 9500 with HP's LightScribe DVD-R disc. His disc auto-plays just fine. I'm having no luck getting my duplicate of the slideshow to play. After some Googling I see that its not as simple as copying standard files. That I may need to download software???

Before I start adding a program to the laptop ... perhaps there's already software on the dv9500?

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction or where I should look for instructions.

The Original is on a DVD-R. In properties it says File System UDF. I'm running Vista.

I load the original disc. Locate the DVD-RW drive in My Computer. Highlight the folder. Right click to Copy. Then Paste in Documents or Videos. Next I replaced the original with a blank LightScribe disc. Choose Burn. All goes well. The disc ejects once files are copied. All files appear to be correctly copied but when I put the disc back in the drive to auto-play ... nothing happens.
Thanks for any light you can shed.

try creating an iso of the disc with Nero or Roxio
then burn the iso, and it will create an EXACT copy of the original disc

If you have Roxio installed there should be a feature called Copy Disc somewhere. That should clone the disc

Not to sound stupid but I've never heard of an iso of a disc. Very familiar with digital camera iso, but never have applied the term to DVDs. My dv9500 has Roxio loaded. I have two options: Creator Basic and MyDVD Basic v9. I'm guessing I want Creator Basic since the later seems more suitable to making a new presentation. In CB, am I right to assume that if I choose Copy Disc that it will make an exact copy of the slideshow from the original and that based on the Roxio software it will know how to save the slideshow so that when I burn it from the hard drive onto my blank LightScribe DVD that it will work?

Thanks for your patience as I learn this.

.iso is an image file. Its pretty much an exact copy of a disc on your notebook. You use burning programs to turn this .iso file into a REAL disc

Yes it will make an exact copy of the disc, unless theres a copyright protection.
