What would you say would be the better screen?

    1. 17.0" WSXGA+ BrightView Widescreen (1680x1050)
    or
    2. 17.0" WXGA+ Ultra BrightView Widescreen (1440x900)

I saw my friends Ultra BrightView on his new HP laptop and the screen was really bright on the bottom and darker on the top. Is #1 bright enough?

I have the 1680X1050 on my old zd8000, its plenty bright, there isn't a darker and lighter part. Its bright all around.

I have the 1680x1050, and it's bright enough. I have noticed, however, that the wallpaper they use makes the screen appear to be an uneven brightness, but it's really just the wallpaper and the sidebar.

As far as the radiance thing, you don't have an option. They are all radiance. It's just a faint pattern on the case.

there is an option... there is the normal imprint or the new radiance that they have in the new 6500t and 9500t. my friend had the normal one and i didnt see it pick up much fingerprints so i think im getting that. Ive just been having trouble deciding between the 9500t and the new inspiron but they dont look as nice and the heaviest game i play is World of Warcraft

If you read under the "Help me decide" link in that section, they are all Radiance.

Yeah, I liked the new dells, only because of the 1900x1200 screen. I really wanted high rez!
