Will HP ever include the 8700 GT as an option for the dv9500t?? If they did I would buy it in a heartbeat

Historically the HP consumer notebooks have never offered high-end video cards, and with their recent acquisition of VoodooPC, I don't think you'll see it anytime soon.

I feel the same way, but I think thegsrguy is right- nothing in HP's history indicates that they will go to an 8600 GT, much less an 8700.

Bump so that someone can contradict me and give me hope that a dv9500t with an 8600 GT is on the horizon! ;)

bump so that I can tell you that it will never happen :p

HP will want to sell their HDX which will have their fastest graphics card, providing a comparable card to other laptops will only weaken some of its sales.

also see it from a historic view, the dv9000t did not have the go7600GT it just had a go7600 and they never even gave it a go7700. so why would they give it a 8600mGT?

sorry it just will be extremely unlikely and not to mention the fact that the 8600mGS is underclocked in the dv9500t, probably due to heat issues so how will they get away with a 8600 or 8700GT? ;)

I wish it could happen cuz i would get one but it just isnt logical

Yup, I believe you. Just wishful thinking on my part.

But what's this about the 8600 GS being underclocked in the 9500? I've been trying to rationalize settling for a GS in the HP since Dell's GT is apparently hurt by using DDR2 instead of DDR3, but if HP's GS is hobbled too, that sort of takes away from the anti-Dell argument...
