2 GB is enough for most gaming. The only thing different dv9500t has from the two Dell notebooks is that it uses 8600M GS - Dell uses 8600M GT which gives better performance in gaming. And since most games are GPU dependent, Dell 1520/1720 will perform better. HP can still have decent gaming though.

For what you're getting on the 8510p, $1400-$1500 is a very good price. Few machines can match it's power and features for that price, it's better than the Dell 1520 in almost every way.

And no, I don't know of a good way to search that site, I only really posted it because several other forum members have ordered an 8510p with no problems form there, and it has a good price.

1400$ is not bad but there are many other systems with the 8600gt out there for that price or less with the same or better everything else...

Like what? Neither the IFL90 nor the 1520 can match the HP 8510p in almost any category, and they shouldn't be "much" less if similarly configured.

I was looking on the thread, "Re: G1S 8600M GT vs F3SV-B1 8600M GS Benchmark" and Gentech does testing that if you have 3GB of RAM in your computer the GS will outperform the GT with 2GB. I mean, the GT is better of course and if you put 3GB or more with it as well it will still beat the GS. I like the HP line a lot and don't like the Dell's that much, so I still went with the HP DV9500t.

Well, if you looking for a decent laptop with good video card go for laptops with 8600GT. But, I've got Hp dv9585en with 8600GS and very happy with it cause i'm running Bioshock at 1024x768 with all details high and decent fps(25-27). If you overclok gpu more, you will get better fps.

Thats good to know, because my DV9500t is coming in either tomorrow or Monday and I'm looking forward to playing Bioshock on it. What are the specs of your laptop?

    HP dv9585en:
    Intel Core 2 Duo 7300
    2046mb ram
    Geforce 8600gs
    2x160gb hard drive
    Lightscribe DVD+RW
    Resolution 1440x900
    Windows Vista 32 bit
I didn't go for HD dvd rom and bigger screen, because it is still pricy.
And i thinking of getting 3gbs of memory for video improvment :")

What do you mean by the HP dv9585en? On HP's site, it's called the dv9500t. Where are you seeing this "HP dv9585en"?

^Dv9585en is a pre-configured model. But that notebook is still within the 9500t series.
