I'm pretty confused as to what you need to add-on in order to get the hdmi port on the dv9500t. I'm deciding between this hp and the dell 1720. This feature would push the hp over the top for me. So, do I absolutely have to get the HD-DVD drive add on in order to get the hdmi port or does it come with the 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS?

Basically I want to know if it's possible to get the hdmi port without purchasing the HD-DVD add on. Thanks.

The HDMI port will come with the 8600m GS card, you don't have to purchase the HD-DVD drive.

Great! that's exactly the answer I was hoping for because I really need that HDMI. Thanks a bunch.
