    Hey guys,

At the moment I'm looking into a dv9615tx. However I will be upgrading the 2GB that is in there to 4GB. I have been given a quote which includes the 4GB ram however it is only 533MHz. Does anyone know whether it will work or whether I will need the 667? Does brand also play a significant part in RAM selection here?

    Thanks in advance.

533MHz RAM will work, it'll just be a hair slower. If you mix 667MHz RAM will 533MHZ RAM, all the RAM will be "downclocked" to 533MHz.

Crucial is a great place to get cheap RAM. As long as you don't go with cheap generic RAM, you should be fine.
