Anyone with a dv9700t, I would appreciate it if someone could check in C:\swsetup and see if there is a folder called "QLB". Do you have that folder?
Thanks.

I do not have a QLB folder.
I know that you mentioned this folder, along the QPW folder, in your guide and I could not find it after I finished my clean install.
Many thanks, again, for your guide. -

Sorry for the delay. I am working on my WindowsXP old HP notebook.
Is quicklaunch button the quickplay button, because between DVD and play/pause buttons I see rewind button?
Anyhow, inserting an audio DVD and pressing quickplay bring nothing: the DVD does not play the music.
For your information the above is based on the computer back to the factory settings ( This afternoon I tested the validity of my recovery discs).
Therefore I have all the original drivers and the most recent because the notebook was build after mid-january 2008. -
I would say that quickplay is the one button on the left with the circle/arrow on it. All of the buttons together are the "quicklaunch buttons".
I'm trying to see if we can figure out where the drivers can be found now that the QLB folder is not there. Maybe it's part of the quicklaunch software or something, I don't know. I don't think I can buy another laptop just to check it out -
Didnt HP replace the Quicklaunch buttons software with Quicktouch which essentially does the same thing? Maybe this software is lcoated in a differently named folder in SWsetup.

I have the QLB folder. I am trying to downgrade to XP but I noticed I do have that folder. I can upload for you if you want it, but you have to give me a place to upload it to. It's 182 MB. Let me know. Oh by the way I have a DV9700t Model: CNF8018Q1C.

I don't need it myself, but some people in my clean install guide thread have mentioned that QLB is not in their \swsetup folder, and their buttons don't work. I am hoping to find out what the replacement for it is. It looks like it might be quicktouch.

I have a 9700t notebook. My quick launch buttons work parcially. I also don't have the QLB folder in SWSetup. Have already installed the quicktouch application that is found in SWSetup and it does not resolve the issue. In the device manager I have an unknown device that I think should be the quick launch buttons. When I open the properties screen on that device it says that the location of it is "Intel(R) ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2815".
Also I have to add that when I'm in windows vista and press the quickplay button nothing happens, but when I press the DVD button, the DVD screen in the quickplay program opens. Then, once the quickplay opens, if I press the quickplay button it returns to the main menu!
In addition, when the computer is off and I press the quickplay button windows Vista boots normally and the Quickplay main menu appears on the screen a few seconds later!
I don't understand this strange behaviour, it works when the computer likes
I will now give my notebook specifications.

dv9500t... i have QLB folder.
-
Does any 9700t owner has a QLB folder? if so, please can they tell me a way I can get it?
-
I'm hoping someone can figure out what will provide the same functionality, unless HP just forgot to include it in the swsetup folder, but that seems unlikely knowing how they build the systems. As of now, people doing clean installs are not getting full functionality with the buttons.
-
Finally I decided to return to factory settings just to investigate a little more about the problem. When I searched in the program files I saw the QLB folder. SO? The folder exists but its not in c:\swsetup. What can be done? Just coping and pasting that folder into a clean install is not good enough because there should be some registry entries that are misssing.
Does anyone knows what to do? -
Hi to all!
Actually good news coming from the HP website. After I made the reinstallation with the factory settings, I visited regularly the drivers and software section to see if new files were available for download. Two days ago, the quick launch installation files were made available in the HP website. Once I noticed that, made inmediately a clean install with this driver and now my computer works perfectly with the quick launch buttons working flawlessly.
Good luck to all of you and thank you for your help. -
