Should I expect much of a difference between these two configurations for gaming purposes? The lack of processor benchmarking has made the following decision somewhat difficult:

    dv9700t
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0 ghz
    Graphics: Nvidia 8600M GT

    dv7z
    Processor: AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core RM-70
    Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 3450

The price is roughly the same for both machines (the dv7z is actually $40 more because hp forces the battery upgrade for the 3450). To complicate matters, I'm unsure whether the 8600M defect issue extends to new laptops. Any guidance is much appreciated!

Even though it is older, the 8600M GS in the dv9700t is more powerful than the HD3450. The Intel will likely get better battery life as well.......
