    Thinking about buying the DV9720US...Circuit City has it for $749 AR...Hows the history on this machine? Is it OK? Looking to stay under $850...want a 17 inch screen....and this one sounds good for general use...

    * AMD 64 X2 TL-60
    * 160GB HD
    * 2GB DDR2 RAM
    * NVIDIA 7150M Video Card

    Let me know if this is a good machine...

    Depends on what you mean a good machine and what you will be using it for. If you're going to be carrying it around then no, it's not an ideal rig for that. If you're talking about using at home, leaving it mostly plugged in, surfing and email and watching movies, then yes. Is it a good price given the config then yes it is. But given what was out before, dv9207us, that I got for my cousin at compusa for 750 with a better GPU and pcmcia tv card with remote then, no.

    I am looking for one that'll be staying at home most of the time, doing photoshop/website maint/general office stuff like word,works,excel,blah. Maybe an occasional game or two....but nothing too intense. So maybe that price isnt too bad...or is there something better I can find w/ a 17" monitor for around $800 in the HP Line?
