Geforce 6150
17" WXGA BrightView
I installed the xp pro drivers that I found I believe somewhere on this great forum; this forum is excellent for laptop info! Video card drivers seem installed fine, because I can change to high resolutions and 32-bit colors etc. But, I can't change to a higher than 60mhz on refresh rate b/c it says the monitor is installed as a 'default monitor'.
I gave the nvidia vga drivers a shot from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3439689&lang=en but I couldn't figure out how to get that to install as it's designed to install on vista.
Please help! thanks!

Are you sure your monitor goes above 60Hz? I don't think it does . I know my laptops screen doesn't. And why do you need above 60Hz refresh rate?
-
Like fabarati said, the monitor is most likely limited to 60 Hz. I don't see a reason to go above it anyways.
-
Hmm... I'm surprised if it's not capable of more than 60. Using a CRT to play games until I can figure out how to increase it.
-
What game requires more than a 60 Hz refresh rate?
-
I dont think your eyes will notice it any higher than 60hz refesh rate
-
Also, CRT and LCD Refresh rates are not the same thing. So 60Hz is quite allright.
-
Yeah, 60 Hz on an LCD is fine, and it doesn't go above that AFAIK.
-
The thing I experienced is playing 1st person shooter game is choppy on my laptop screen. I plug in a crt into the vga port and move the display over onto the crt, and the game is so much smoother b/c of the refresh rate.
-
Umm... That's not because of the refresh rate. It's likely because you're running the CRT monitor at a lower resolution.
-
Actually same resolution. My guess is refresh rate b/c that's important for fps games.
dv9727cl - need to use above 60mhz refresh rate
