ordered and received the HP 4430 (refurbished) from ecost this week for $849. The laptop looks and feels like new. The only complaint so far is about the software. MS home office was installed but since it is not included, the product key is not included either. So I had to remove it. Also the cd burner software was missing. When I booted it the first time network and video card did not have the right driver. The laptop comes with XP home edition but the cd had professional edition on it. I called ecost, hp, hp again and they finally agreed in sending me the xp home edition cd. I also noted that the warranty period is already over for the model. Interesting ...
So far so good. Everything seems to work. I still have not tested wifi yet but will do so shortly.

cool, thanks for the report, hopefully you don't have to jump through any more hoops to get the right software and that the wi-fi works out for you. You got a good deal on that machine.
