    Hello peeps
its my first post been reading threads for a while but scone still hasnt go any smarter.

Im running solar panels on my campervan and would like to upgrade or "downgrade" the compaq c700 laptop I have from the 35w celeron to
something that uses around 10w is it possible?

Otherwise I will just spend more money on another set of batteries and panels and run a t8300 c2d cpu.

Any suggestions? its a C700TU marking on the service tag

    regards, Dave

I think it would be easier to lower you processor performance in "Power Settings". Also try dimming the screen.

Click on the battery by the clock. Then More Power options. Then next to whichever plan you use, select Change Plan Settings. Next select Change Advanced Power Settings. Find Processor Management on the list.

proper pentium have better efficiency for battery usage?

Celerons usually do not have any decent power saving technologies in use, so that t8300 would consume less power. It would probably downclock and undervolt nicely.
