I know I read somewhere that there is a recommended way to plug in your laptop to a power source. Meaning when I remove the ac adapter cable from my laptop, and then plug it back in, does the power from the AC have to be off before I plug it back into the laptop?

idealy, as you will get an inrush current. but the AC adapter is designed to cope with that. meaning that it doesn't matter.
